I just noticed that. You are a far braver person than I. I usually don't trust a version < x.x.30 and prefer x.x.50 or higher. Fewer bugs. Too bad I can't blame this problem on the BOINC client.

Works with Ati/AMD GPUs under Win7, Win8 and With AMD APUs and GPUs under Linux after enabling both the GPU and the CPU at the Collatz preferences.

Has even downloaded AMD OpenCL CPU WUs for my Intel CPUs that have a AMD/Ati GPU...

Caution: The HD 48xx GPUs require the Legacy AMD Catalyst driver which is NOT the same as the current AMD Catalyst driver.
You can add the HD 47xx to that

Thanks. Done.

A new Linux i686 nVidia version is now available (6.05) which was build using the nvidia-304 libraries. If that doesn't work, I'm out of ideas.

Did that and another 30 erred out...

Doesn't look like the nivada cards will run under something so far unidentified that has changed..

If they would figure out how to pass the GPU info to virtual machines, it would make this a lot easier! As it stands, I now need to repartition a couple boxes with nVidia GPUs and add more particians so they can multi-boot with Win32 and Linux x86 in order to compile and test nVidia apps.

If OpenCL is supposed to be a standard, then how come Intel and AMD GPUs and CPUs can run the same OpenCL apps but nVidia throws errors? Could it mean nVidia really only cares about CUDA which is proprietary?

I get CPU, nVidia GPU, and Intel GPU. No AMD. And I did a cache flush and reload. Weird.

Changing the parameters in exe.config seems to have no effect whatsoever. I guess that file is never read by the Boinc mgnr. So, how else gpu usage can be throttled down to 98%?

Reminder: There is still no option to select ATI GPU in the preferences section. Just nvidia and intel GPUs.

Looks like they hard coded the name to ATI even though the GPUs are AMD and have been for a couple years. I really wonder who on the BOINC team names this stuff? I'll work on it while I wait for the Linux i686 install to finish.

The BOINC code checked for both nVidia and CUDA but only for ATI and not AMD. I added the AMD check and the preferences now show up properly.

Sorry. Next step : Install intel opencl (intel_sdk_for_ocl_applications_2013_r3_runtime_x64_setup.msi). Now double opencl cpu driver. But, intel_opencl_cpu works 3 sec fail.

OpenCL CPU apps will use ALL cores/cpus. There is no OpenCL command to limit it to only 3.
You have ignore the estimated remainint since BOINC calculates its estimates with flops and Collatz uses only iops so on some machines the estimate is good while on others it is way off.

Intel's OpenCL driver is faster than AMD's driver but it only works with recent Intel CPUs. I think the Q8200 will work with the Intel driver. Install the runtime and find out. The Collatz server won't send work for Intel CPU unless the processor reports that it supports SSE4.1 so it can't hurt to try.

Can you try setting the environment variable CL_LOG_ERRORS to stderr or stdout and see if that lets it report more detail about the problem? e.g. CL_LOG_ERRORS=stderr

Okay, I finally found the time to get to this. Sorry for the delay!

Does it help explain what is the issue?:

I'm getting nothing but Computation Errors on late 2013 Mac Pro (i.e. the two FireCore Pros). Running Solo Collatz 6.04 (OpenCL_AMD_GPU).

BOINC is version 7.2.39.

Mac OS X 10.9.1.

Anyone having luck with similar setup?

James.

Mavericks continues to be a PITA in that it doesn't want to run the app that works perfectly OK on earlier OS X versions. I'm hoping that in the next week or two I can find the time to clone get my one and only OS X host set up for dual boot for Mountain Lion and Mavericks so I can build a version on Mavericks with the latest XCode, or at least be able to figure out why the app doesn't want to run on it so I can find a work around.

Thanks. That helped a little. I created a new version 6.05 which I hope will now return the actual reason why it doesn't want to compile the kernel. I purposely put a bug in the kernel (only while testing) and the build log showed the error on Mountain Lion so I hope it will work the same on Mavericks. I don't expect it work run, but I hope it will at least print out the actual error message now.
