During the nightly backup process, the database once again stopped responding and had to be restarted this morning. Rather than bring it back online as I have been doing, I spent the day trying to duplicate the issue, but to no avail. Before bringing it back online, the database tables were optimized and I checked to make sure the database is in sync with the BOINC file system.

Thanks for the update.
Good to see the project back online.

If only it would stay that way! MySQL backups crashed it again last night. I re-ran the script and it worked fine and there's nothing in the log to explain what happened that I can find.

Thanks for the updates, Slicker!

I apologize if I came off harshly in the thread I started about the outage over the holidays. I meant no disrespect and absolutely appreciate all that you do running this project. Thank you for your time and efforts!

Slicker -- my suspicion here is that you have an intermittent hardware problem -- perhaps a power supply that works but then gets 'unhappy' under some periodic load conditions.

I've encountered that with systems in my work.

These sorts of problems often don't leave diagnostic tracks.
