I am currently crunching with my liquid cooled μATX system (specs below) on Windows 8.1 Enterprise x64.

ASRock X99M Extreme4
4x4GB of DDR4-2400 (stock 2400 clocks)
i7-5820K @ 4.4 GHz (w/ Koolance CPU-370si water block)
XFX R9 290 @ 1150MHz Core, 1440MHz RAM (w/ Heatkiller water block & flashed with PT1 Custom ROM.zip)
Nvidia GTX 770 @ 1320MHz Core, 1753MHz RAM (w/ Heatkiller water block & flashed with Galaxy HOF BIOS)
Swiftech MCP35x2, radiators: 360x120mm, 240x120mm, and two 120x120mm.

I have a 1GB RAM drive where both the boinc application directory and the boinc data directory reside.

I use MSI Afterburner to get my R9 290 clocks where they are (btw, I'm unfortunately unable to unlock the extra R9 290x cores on my R9 290).

My AMD OpenCL collatz.config

My Nvidia Cuda collatz.config

To the best of my knowledge, I have done every possible optimization that I can to ensure that I am achieving the best results.

However, I have begun to develop an additional consideration. Would I receive better results in another operating system? I am considering repartitioning and installing another OS. I can do hackintosh with OSX mavericks/yosemite, or I can do whichever flavor of linux (I'm considering archlinux).

But I am curious to see if any of you have already tried this, and furthermore, how much of an increase (if any) was achieved. Please advise.
