Normally it takes 4200 to 4300 sec to crunch a 6.04 Solo Collatz workunit by my computer and HD 7870 GPU. It seem that the time required to do it double and now triple.

1 core (pcu) and the GPU available

Now 3h30 for 1 workunit instead of 1h15....

What to do?

Do you use gpu-z or MSIafterburner? If not get one or both of them and see if your gpu has slowed down to a slower speed due to heat or something else, if so you will have to restart the pc to speed it back up again to normal speeds. Gpu-z just tells you the stats and current speed of your gpu, MSIafterburner, it works on ALL brands of gpu's, will let you set a fan profile to keep the gpu from overheating. I run MSIafterburner on all of my machines, and have gpu-z handy as well.

But it doesn't tell you what the clock speeds of the gpu are, that is how you would know it crashed, if they dropped dramatically they would cause the extra long running times.

And those temps are very good!

I usually restart my Boinc only pc's once a month, just before the monthly a/v, spyware and backups start.

The GPU is stock, I bought it brand new and never unlock it.

GPU Clock: 1000 Mhz Memory 1200 Mhz
Default Clock: 1000 Mhz Memory 1200 Mhz

I normally do a shut down every month when I received the usual monthly update from Microsoft. The previous shutdown was done june 9th when i received Microsoft update.

I did a shutdown, start it back but was unable to go back to the usual daily production on collatz.

You don't mention which plan class you were running before but for the OpenCL apps to run well, you need to use a config file since the defaults are set so that an HD3870 can run with mediocre video performance. You GPU is only at 70% utilization so to get it to 95% or more, you will need to use a config file. See Optimizing Collatz v6.xx

What are the clock speeds RIGHT NOW though, gpu-z and MSIafterburner will tell you that. You are ASSUMING that it is still running at full speed, gpu-z and MSIafterburner will CONFIRM that. Windows has a bad habit of throttling the gpu down, which only a reboot can fix, when it has a problem with something the gpu is doing. My sons throttled down everytime he opened a webpage, he ended up getting a different brand and everything is fine now.

I ereased all collatz subdirectories
I detach collatz from boinc.

I restart the computer

I re-install boinc 7.4.42

I attach collatz

worst than ever GPUZ show:

now GPU load 26% (went down from 73%)

GPU Core Clock: 1000.0 MHz
GPU Memory Clock: 1200.0 MHz

GPU Tempuerature 52C (went down from 60C)

VideoCard HD 7870 Saphire Pitcaim 2048 MB of Memory GDDR5 driver 1.501.1003.0 (caatalyst 14.12) on win7pro 64bit

When I start back workunit from Milkyway ATI were load and GPU Load was 87% a minute ago.

I simply want to keep the Video Card Original. I don't want to overclock it simply change the config such way GPU load goes back to 95%.

Please help

where is the xml file?
what to change in it to increase the GPU load without overclocking?

An xml file is homemade, there is NO generic xml file, like you are looking for, that comes with Boinc! IMHO you are going to have to run 2 gpu units at once to get the load you are looking for. Here is a webpage that shows you the howto:
http://forums.evga.com/BOINC-app_configxml-file-settings-for-GPU-Projects-m2213432.aspx

BUT it is NOT specific for Collatz you will have to modify it to work here.
