So how do I get 1.21? I downloaded those tasks after this thread was started, and I had test apps turned on.

Edit: Something weird is going on. Check out this task:

http://boinc.thesonntags.com/collatz/result.php?resultid=21811740

App version says 1.21. stderr says 1.20.

Same with the other two tasks I posted earlier in this thread.

I re-built the v1.21 app for OS X and re-added it to BOINC. Of course, BOINC won't let me just replace it so I had to increment the version to 1.22.

In the Collatz Conjecture Preferences, make sure you have "Run test applications?" enabled.

The issue is with the AMD driver and the way that it optimizes the OpenCL code when it compiles it at run time. I've submitted bug reports twice and nothing has been done even though another developer reported the same error with his kernel code. Since the same application compiles fine using either the nVidia driver or Apple's CPU OpenCL driver, and since it works when optimization is disabled with the AMP driver (but then runs slower than the CPU app), the problem is with the AMD driver's OpenCL optimization.

OK. I'll turn off 'get new tasks' for the moment.

Hopefully they'll fix it soon. Hate seeing those GPUs not being used!

Linux (64 bit) with NVidia runs very well.
Linux (64 bit) with AMD/ATI didn't download the application files and therefore no WU. I had to download the files manually and use an app_info.xml to get work.
Is there a configuration missing?

The app_info.xml is this:

Sure it isn't a setting in your preferences? The collatz preferences allow choosing which type of work to get but I should really remove the CUDA and ATI options because they no longer exist. The only options now are the OpenCL versions and the CPU versions. Make sure that "opencl_amd_gpu" is checked.

I need new glasses. There are 3 options:
OpenCL for Intel CPUs (opencl_intel_cpu)
OpenCL for AMD/Intel CPUs (opencl_amd_cpu)
and (in a row a few items before)
OpenCL for AMD GPUs (opencl_amd_gpu)

I activated the last.....and now the work is flowing (less than 210 secs for a 270X seems to be o.k.)
