Wondering if this is an incorrect setting in my preferences or if there is an issue with the code?

What sort of configuration -- OS, Nvidia card type, that sort of thing.

One thing I recently encountered was that I needed to download and install the Windows Visual Studio C++ support even though I was running a GT750ti with the latest nvidia drivers on a 64 bit Win7 setup.

After that, a reboot, and detach, reinstall Collatz.

Hi Barry,

Thank you for your response.

I am running Windows 10 with an NVIDA GTX 650 graphics card.

I'm running version 7.6.9 (x64), wxWidgets Version 3.0.1.

Virtual Box 4.3.12r93733

Regards,

Gerry.

Ah --- Windows 10 -- I have one system running Windows 10 -- GTX 750ti.

The first two times I tried setting this up with Collatz I ran into problems -- first it Collats would not download work, and then after some changes, I got the same problem you did.

What I did for the third try:

1) Detatch Collatz.

2) Download the latest GTI drivers

3) Full uninstall of the existing GTI drivers

4) Reboot.

5) Install latest GTI drivers

6) Download and install the latest C++ redistributables from Microsoft.

7) Reboot

8) Reinstall Collatz for BOINC.

That worked.

Windows 10 is seemingly rather troubled about drivers and passes the confusion on to Collatz.

Barry, thank you for the help.

I followed the eight steps you outlined and I'm still having the same issue. Any other ideas?

Thank you,

Gerry.

Well, with Windows 10 it seems there are some other issues OS specific.

I only have one system with Windows 10 -- it took several tries to get this to work, including several reboots, a full uninstall of the nvidia drivers, a full uninstall of BOINC, a reboot. A full reinstall of the Nvidia drivers, reboot, an install of the C++ pieces off of the Microsoft site, reboot, then a resintall of the most recent version of BOINC, and yes reboot again.

The see if a fresh Collatz install works.

If it doesn't at this point, try one more reboot.

After that, I guess I'd surrender to something in the Windows 10 wierdness category...
