Collatz Conjecture: Notice from BOINC
This project is using an old URL. When convenient, remove the project, then add https://boinc.thesonntags.com/collatz/

However, the remove button is greyed out. any ideas?

The current URL that I cannot change is http://boinc.thesonntags.com/collatz/

It sounds like you used a 3rd party app to attach to Collatz and not Boinc itself, you will probably have to use that to detach.

I have figured it out now. It is because everything is attached to BAM! boincstats it wouldn't let me change anything.

I have now reinstalled everything and created a ne BAM! account and all is back to normal.

Yup Bam! is a 3rd party app I was talking about, glad you got it worked out.

It would be a good thing is the the Boinc database was updated so that folks joining or reattaching to Collatz were not required to go in manual mode.

Same problem here. The project asks to update the URL to https://xxxxx but when I do it, the client doesn't download work.
So I kept using http://xxxxx and accept the error message.
Yes, I'm using BAM and would like to stick with it.

The BAM! database has been updated with the correct URL (https). https://boincstats.com/en/forum/18/10952,1

Switches like this seem to be causing a few issues with some other projects, but no issues for me so far. Maybe if there are issues still for anyone, discuss them here first and then we can make a smaller number of suggestions to BAM! if required - looks like a bunch of WCG participants all complained to BAM! before their project figured out what was going on, which is hard on the BAM! guys.

I got the message, and I attached via BOINC Manager.

I think he updated to a secure address which is generating the error.
