Seems like now I'm getting random download errors, unpredictable on all machines.

Usually one or two, sometimes as many as seven all at once.

It also sets the update delay clock back each time one is encountered.

Hitting the update button manually seems to clear the error and fix the errored WU and reset the update clock to normal.

Anyone else encountering this?

18 of these for me in the last 24 hours. There are multiple failures as the work unit is resent.

I would love to know how BOINC can have a signature error on a file that is empty.
What BOINC client version are you using?

Looking at his machines, here's an example:

<core_client_version>7.6.22</core_client_version>

Now I've got another issue, one machine only.

After we came back from the server downtime, all the machines updated, uploaded and downloaded new work.

Half II did the same with one minor difference.

It refuses to upload subsequent completed WU's

I've gone thru all the usual steps of resetting none of that matters. I even detached and tried to re-attach, no joy, in fact it refused to connect. giving the old project is down routine we just had fixed. I checked the addy and sure enough it wasn't the HTTPS one.

Don't have a clue how that got reverted to the problem address but it did.

The only way to get the machine back was to delete and restore the boinc data directory. which it did as i expected it to. and downloaded a new batch of WU's under the correct HTTPS addy.

But it won't upload them, right now as it works thru the 300 or so WU's it downloaded the upload delay is up to five hours, it increases everytime it tries an upload. which is three times ever minute and a half.

Right now I'm going to allow it to run through it's cache (about an hour to go) and see what happens when it is done.

But I'm not expecting much.

Pretty much ran into the same problem. Boinc Manager would not upload. Thought it might because URL was http rather than https and the recent issue with the ssl certificate. So tried to restart and reattach, to no avail. Lost everything.

For the last few days all my uploads and downloads on both machines are stuck and I just get error messages like:

24/11/2016 13:00:52 | Collatz Conjecture | Temporarily failed download of collatz_sieve_2954731493023411077120_6597069766656: transient HTTP error

One machine has now run out of work completely. Any advice?

In my case, I had to update ca-bundle.crt after the site's certificate was replaced. I found on Seti@home instructions to get more information from the log.
In notepad, create a file called cc_config.xml in directory F:\ProgramData\Boinc with these contents:
<cc_config>
<options>
<http_1_0>1</http_1_0>
</options>
</cc_config>

That led me to that crt file.

I already have a cc_config.xml file, but do not have a ca-bundle.crt file in \programdata\Boinc.

Where should it go and what should it contain?

Not sure where the file has to be located and even if you actually need it. It might be somewhere else for you. As for the content, I found it with a simple web search. You might have to install it rather than just download it.

It is when I added the config file and got much more information in the advanced log that I was able to figure out my problem. The log actually said the file was obsolete, which was not coming in the basic log. Then it might be a completely different problem for you. Just look closely at the log.

DOWNLOAD and INSTALL the most recent BOINC (either the Stable V 7.6.22 or Beta/Test V 7.6.33) Version from
https://boinc.berkeley.edu/download_all.php for your PC's configuration.

You will NOT loose any work currently downloaded.
Make sure BOINC is not running and Shutdown/Exited completely before installing. A REBOOT of your computer will be needed after installing.
