when it quits snowing today... I'm going Christmas shopping for binoculars

That will make us both winners

Awesome gift idea. We have a couple inches of snow, but it hopefully will melt.

And that makes me a winner.

The baking seems to never end. I have had to make a couple of batches of cookies since my brother ate them. THe good news is the bake sale is this weekend. I don't want to see cookie dough until this time next year.

Message 23590 - Posted: 18 Dec 2016, 8:37:22 UTC

Been doing a bit traveling recently. Went to Oahu for the events commemorating the 75th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor, then spent a little time at the World Surfing Championship Pipeline Masters event on the north shore of Oahu. Traveled to Volcanoes National Park on Hawai'i to see the bubbling lava lake at Halema‘uma‘u but the direction of the wind prevented me from seeing the lava enter the ocean at Kamokuna/Kalapana. Made it to the visitor's information center at the 9200' elevation of Mauna Kea, but ice on the trail prevented me from traveling to the 14,000' summit. This was disappointing, but not surprising, as there been several major snowstorms at Mauna Kea recently. Went to Lana'i to visit a feral/domesticated cat sanctuary (500+ cats, one of whom I am now sponsoring), then returned to Hawai'i for some boogie boarding at Kua Bay Beach. Then, traveled for 17+ hours to DC for two days of work. All told, 12 plane flights in 12 days. Had a wonderful time, but I am very glad to be home - I need to catch up on some laundry and other domestic duties before the Christmas holiday. And, of course, now that I re-established connectivity to the internet, I am winning!

Need to make a better effort at the banana bread, :(
I think I put too much banana in it because it's completely cooked but soggy inside near the bottom...

Let me know when the song hits the top 10.

Until then, I'm winning.

Expecting son to visit on 24th and daughter to show on 26th.
Guess I better put the star on top of the Christmas Vacuum Cleaner and get the presents around the bottom. It will look great with a little bit of tinsel.

Merry Christmas !!!
