Please forgive my ignorance but I have just switched some PC's to Linux Ubuntu 9.10 and though I have BOINC operating I can't get any Collatz Conjecture work units.

I installed the latest BOINC client available under Debian (6.10.36) along with CUDA 3.0 and the NVidia 195 drivers.

For what it's worth GPUgrid is working fine but Collatz won't give me any work and that's the project I prefer. :(

I assume there's something I've done wrong but have no idea what.

Any guidance would be much appreciated.

TIA.

So have I posted in the wrong place or is this one of those sites where you get to post questions but you have to figure it out yourself?

I mean it's posted under Linux questions which sort of implies someone knows something about it or why have it?

You need to install the cuda app manually.

And what, pray tell, is the proper way to do that. I've been trying to get this to work, seems like forever, but have never managed to get a GPU work unit. Any help is appreciated.

I finally got it working thanks to the post by BeemerBiker. Thank you O' Supreme, Great and Wonderful Rider!
I still have 1 unsolved problem.. Occasionally, on any of 3 computers I get a message like Task collatz_xxxx exited with zero status but no 'finished' file
If this happens repeatedly you may need to reset the project. Did the reset but still have the problem.
I also get Task collatz_xxxx: no shared memory segment, However in /etc/sysctl.conf I have kernel.shmmax = 0x7fffffff. This seems to work for Cinelerra, but...
Any suggestions?
