Ouch..$1600 in cards?? Ouch..Core 6 970?? Never heard of that. I built my i7 950 , two hd5870( did not need that much disk space as my other towers have a total 3 TB) 320 hdd sata6, W7 64, for $1300 plus a $120 in 3000rpm fans later. I tried the H50 cuz it was on sale but was not impressed(pobly needed the H70)
If you look at "Feed back Wanted" (Slayer of Death) in Number Crunching, msg 11364 is my current set up.

BOTH of you guys are out of my price range!!! I rebuild pc's after I have helped people buy a new one. My payment is the old pc which I either use fro crunching or parts. I used to rebuild them with Linux and give them to the local Foster Kids, contact your local Social Services Agency, but our local project got its funding cut off so they can't use any pc's right now, there is no one to administer the program anymore!

I DO buy gpu's and power supplies though and put them in the machines and that seems to help quite a bit! I have 13 pc's running here at home right now.

I just bought a 680w power supply in a sale, to upgrade from a 310, but it won't work. I've already exchanged it for another, but this 680 is just the same - it spins the CPU and power supply briefly when turned on, and then nothing.
