Greylisted again ? ...

It doesn't appear to be the case according to the Cridcooinlists, but Collatz seems to be missing from the list of projects on my https://www.gridcoinstats.eu/cpid/ page again ...

What's happening ?

Where is the greylisting/blacklisting officially posted?

Both Gridcoin's Greylist and Whitelist pages show Collatz as Whitelisted right now, but list mymagnitude doesn't :(

And, as you say, the project is shown as excluded from here:

https://www.gridcoinstats.eu/project

Same as happened in June...

Maybe you could ask on the GrdiCoin forums?

I did.

When this happened last month it was suggested that it was down to the Collatz Servers not responding when needed...

Looks like Collatz is back in the GRC network again. Not sure what the blips are all about. Other projects are far from perfect I've noticed since moving some resources elsewhere. Computation errors and the like which seem to have been a problem for some time. At least we have an active admin here :)

How can you tell? There is a big issue concerning lost credits, and the last reaction from Slicker is from 2(!) weeks ago.

Perhaps getting back in that network explains the spotty access problems I am seeing this morning -- upload server seems 'twitchy' at the moment.

I am guessing that now that Collatz is listed again on the GRC network, folks from that network are now flooding over to Collatz causing access problems to resurface here.

Perhaps a regular (and permanent) greylisting of Collatz over there would be good for 'regular' users here.

Why do something that reduces the total power available to Collatz? To handle all the requests from additional users maybe puts some strain on the odd bit of server equipment, but surely the goal all along for this project has been to get as much computing power as possible to have the best crack at solving the puzzle?

So the latest outage is a DNS screw up :(

Manually editing my hosts file has enabled me to use the server -- and the forum ;) -- but this is really annoying...

I can see from the host data that this DNS problem isn't causing a problem for all users.

It is for UK and Europe though with no host record for boinc.thesonntags.com since early afternoon yesterday :(

(tested through three different UK ISPs)

You've guessed wrong.

Access problems are being caused by a free DNS service that isn't working properly.

You get what you pay for...

Hello everyone
A little thinkink out my mind !!!
I see on the majority of forums on all BOINC project the same thing : GridCoin/GRC poll problems.
Everywhere the same.
The biggest most of us are honnest cruncher who spent time, power, and electric to help science.
Some have very powerfull hosts, some less powerfull. Not a matter.
Like says philosoph "Pierre de Coubertin" about Olympics games : the most important is to participate.

Very strange is that Gridcoin/GRC, do not participate to projects who give very low credits
(Acoustic, CAS, BURP, DENIS, Gerasim, ODLK, Rake,.....)
Look only the stats on SETIBZH and Formula BOINC !

In fact, there are mining BOINC it self !!!

Look the stats and average credit on SETI !!!
With only 7000 members, they crunch 4 times more than the most honnest SET Germany with four times more members !!!

So they are 16 (sixteen) time much more powerfull.
I not speak about the hidden team GRC who is able with only 60 members and only 37 active to crunch two times more than Germay with 30,000 members !!!
The ratio is in million !!!
What kid of hosts they have ???
Strange !!!
Best regards from the first Belgian team admin.

The list of approved and unapproved projects for Gridcoin team members can be seen here:

https://gridcoinstats.eu/project/

And there are more Gridcoin team members crunching SETI than any other project -- even though the credits are really low.

They may be anonymous but you can see the hosts.

Servers that can make $100 (real dollars) a day in rental charges being used to make $5 a day in (difficult to spend) GRC :)

Strange indeed!

I’m experiencing an issue where 2 of my computers, both equipped with tb3 NVIDIA egpu’s and windows, crash and lock up in the night. I run other projects and all is fine. I have the latest NVIDIA drivers. Does not happen on machines only running gpus internally. Also does not happen on macOS with egpu’s.
Will continue to work on a solution and will let you all know - in case some of you use egpus. I suspect its an NVIDIA software update issue as it’s a new problem. Will roll back tomorrow and test!

Please, stop with such abnormal reactios !!!
Look only one host : https://setiathome.berkeley.edu/results.php?hostid=8463830
How with only four CPU it can crunch one WU in about 600 seconds, when a Xeon 8cores from the same user crunche four times less !!!

And the best of all look https://setiathome.berkeley.edu/results.php?hostid=8375730

Stop to manipulate WU. It is impossible to crunch so fast !

All those host shows manipulation of results.

It is not about approved or not. It is only about manipulations of results.
Grodcoin/GRC must be banned from BOINC. For ever.
To much false host who take WU, never crunch and after a fex hours have a RAC above one million. It is impossible !!!!
The bullshit of Gridcoin is enough. Keep your virtual maney. and let scientist working

Yes I am angry !!!

You should discuss these on a SETI forum.

But note first that both of those hosts are using GPUs, not CPUs -- one a 1050ti and the other a 1080ti.

A 1080ti on *this* project will complete the WU 20% faster and earn 28,000 credits, not 60 like you get from SETI :)

And it doesn't matter if you're on the Gridcoin Team or not, the 1080ti is equally fast ;-)

That's very true!! I'm doing gpu units here in 239 seconds using a 1080Ti and getting anywhere from 27k to 29k per workunit, that gives me a rough RAC of 10 Million per day from that one gpu alone!!

Comparing gpu wu's to cpu wu's in time and credits is why alot of us run gpu units and not cpu units if a project has them.
Seti is also using the 'credit new' process and is a very good example of why someone can NOT compare credits from one project to another!!

One other point trying to 'blame' GrdiCoin because of 'credit whores' is not a good thing, they attract people with fancier computers BECAUSE they pay money, in addition to the credits we all get, for your processing power. If you want to bring a dual core pc with an Nvidia 750Ti to GrdiCoin they will be happy to let you join, but if you bring an 8 core cpu running at 4.5ghz and dual or even triple 1080Ti gpu's in it will give you ALOT more cash in your wallet everyday!!
