A new version of the Collatz Sieve application has been released for Windows. The Collatz Sieve app is still listed as a beta/test application so you will need to check that in your preferences in order to get work.

I added a sieve_size parameter to the config file in version 1.07 which controls not only the sieve size used but also affects the items per kernel. I also modified the default values to those found to work on all of my various nVidia and AMD gpus with 99% GPU utilization and reasonable video response. Macintosh and Linux versions should be available sometime next week.

The Windows x86_64 app was removed while I figure out what happened. I tested it but when run through BOINC it errors out almost immediately.

Will Collatz Sieve work with the Intel HD 4000? I have this (second) GPU lying idle looking for work (it bombs with V6.08 but was fine with V6.04).

First WU completed in about 20 min but with a validation error. No warning or error messages in the STDERR.TXT file.

If you look at the output, you will probably see that the best result is outside the bounds of the start and stop numbers. That's why it failed in validation. I'm testing a possible fix now.

Batting 0.500 with four accepted results and four deemed invalid. In looking at the log, they all have the problem you describe below.

Another issue is that the completed WU's are not reported and uploaded automatically. One must issue an Update command via the BOINC Manager for this to occur.

Since one cannot be around the machine 24 hrs per day, it would be nice if this process can be automated and similar to PrimeGrid, MilkyWay etc. Otherwise the completed WU's will be sitting in the queue and, more importantly, one will very quickly be out of work since the server has no indication the existing units have been completed.

The WUs will be sent when BOINC decides to send them. The app has nothing to do with when the BOINC client does updates or requests work.
