It looks like we are back up and running. I was finally able to add the Collatz project again and it is running.

Thanks, Slicker. What I did was try and change the https to http in the file first. Of course, it worked, but I did get the message about being an old file that needed to be updated. (I put the https back where it was) AND then - the real thing that fixed everything was adding -

<web_rpc_url_base>https://boinc.thesonntags.com/collatz/</web_rpc_url_base>

under the master url statement. Fixed everything, and am now in the process of adding that statement to all my machines that do not work. (So far, the 2 I changed work great - and heating up the room with a happy GPU). :)

Hi Slicker,

I can confirm, as others have done, that all problems look like they are resolved.

Thank you so much.

Message 23306 - Posted: 9 Nov 2016, 22:21:16 UTC - in response to Message 23297.

Yes, Chris, this is a real head-scratcher. I just reset/powered down all my equipment (even the network servers for this part of town) for 15 minutes to be sure everything was flushed out.. even flushed dns before and after power up of machines. But, to no avail.
Slicker... I still get the same responses to all ip and ns commands.
One thing that is also common - When asking for a Collatz update on a machine that works, after the "update requested by user" message, boinc comes back with a response of "Sending scheduler request: Requested by user." On a machine that does NOT work, the response boinc comes back with is "Fetching scheduler list". After THAT message, you know it isn't going to work.
Alienpower... That's what we are trying to figure out.

A head scratcher it is. Here's more: on a machine that didn't work I just did a drivecopy to an SSD (migrated the OS and D drive to a new drive). After booting with the new drive (should be an exact copy), I added Collatz (yes it worked now) and it proceeded to DL new WUs. I have no idea why this should all of a sudden make it work. Any ideas anyone?

https://boinc.thesonntags.com/collatz/get_project_config.php

Copy and past the link into your browser and then you tell me. It works 100% of the time when I do it.

This worked on all my remaining non-working boxes. Thanks!

Thanks, Slicker. I know you fixed it, but I took too long to be able edit my last post. I figured it out when my last computer started working without me modifying it. Finally.. Now all my computers are happy with Collatz and Asteroids (and a few others), but, thanks again for your efforts to keep us all 'putering.

Well, it seems that something is still broke....

My HAF II seems like it doesn't want to upload or download anything.

I'm at my wits end on this. My brain is telling me to wipe and reinstall everything from windows out.

But, on the offchance that someone else might have an idea, this is the logs I'm getting....

11/12/2016 7:54:47 AM | Collatz Conjecture | Scheduler request completed

This started occurring right after the servers came back up yesterday and has persisted to now. It is only happening on HAF II the other five machines are operating normally.

I've tried everything I know except a complete wipe of the HD and rebuild of the system.

Any help would be appreciated.

Well guess what.....

Left the machine sit for a couple of hours, come back and reboot it.....

It's working like it never had a problem....

Beats the hell outta me what it's issue was, but it seems to have cleared itself up....

Back to full strength!

YAY TEAM!

Well guess what.....

Left the machine sit for a couple of hours, come back and reboot it.....

It's working like it never had a problem....

Beats the hell outta me what it's issue was, but it seems to have cleared itself up....

Back to full strength!

YAY TEAM!

As the pc techs have long said 'have you tried rebooting it yet?', in your case I know you did that more than a few times, but it DID work this time!! I'm guessing what happened is the certificate finally made its way around to everywhere and now everything is back to normal.

I've tried everything you guys suggested; nothing seemed to get my wu's through. (up and downloads)

But now all works fine; I've updated Boinc from 7.0.28 to 7.6.9.....

Hi,
my Boinc-Manager does still not update the collatz statistics.
Do I have to do something?
Or is this still a project problem?
Also the statistics at BoincStats do not update.
Could it be that there is the same problem as it was with the first ssh certificate change?

regards
Veit
