I am seeing transient HTTP errors here.
Seems stuck uploading a lot of completed work units and won't (or can't) download any more.

Still same problem. Even ended BOINC and restarted. Same. Cannot upload OR get new jobs.

Perhaps a more draconian approach of downing and powering off the server, then restarting in sequence might sneeze the problem.

Or, perhaps it simply takes time to for the certificate update to propagate through the internet.

Or perhaps the manually updated cert didn't take or is not classed as legit.

Just some rambling as we come up on a full day of the outage.

I finally found the issue. After the manual update, it was using "chain.pem" instead of "fullchain.pem" so the complete certificate chain from LetsEncrypt was not found. While web browsers are smart enough to lookup the CA and figure it out, BOINC doesn't have it in it's CA list and doesn't check for updates of that list.

I ran into an unexpected problem the other night while trying to get a friend added to the project. We got the message 'Not Taking New Accounts' or something like that. We could not get him added. Is this indeed the situation with the project? Does this indicate the end of the project soon?

From the front page:

Due to spammers creating millions of bogus accounts, invite codes have been enabled and will change on a regular basis. Please contact the project admin to get the invite code so you can create an account. You may request the invite code by contacting the site admin

Are you using an account manager? I think you'll need to contact the project admin and manually create an account first, after that, it should be straightforward to join the project.

I'm fairly sure it's not the end of the project :D

We have set up an account at BOINC statsBAM. I am certain he is not going to be a spammer. The first video card he is going to use for the project is an NVIDIA 980. Once he sees how fast credit accumulates, he will probably get more cards to use on the project. I am not sure how to contact the site admin.

M
