Hi,
I running Boinc with Collatz on a dedicated PC (100%, 24/24 7/7). Today I was checking the task and see that:

Also due date (date limite on the snapshot) is like 5 days ago but he continue to calculate this very long task.
It's not the first time I see that for Collatz. Actually I suspend the project so I guess when the calculation is finished that will going to the trash ?

What should I do ? Should I stop getting task from Collatz ?
Thanks for any help
AW

Honestly yes stop doing cpu tasks here at Collatz and use any gpu's you have here, yes the cpu tasks do work but yes they take a l-o-n-g time and you don't get alot of credits for them.

Collatz is much better if you run it on a video card and AMD ones are better than Nvidia ones due to the dual precision Collatz does but that doesn't mean that some of the top cards aren't Nvidia ones.

Unfortunately, BOINC's time estimates are based on floating point operations per second (FLOPS) and Collatz apps only do integer math (IOPS) so the time estimates can be way off. The WUs run in a linear fashion, so if it takes 1 day to do 20%, then it will take 5 days to complete regardless of how long the BOINC client thinks it will take. The GPUs work much better for this project because stream processors on GPUs work really well when given a small simple equation to run in parallel. A PC's CPU has to be a jack of all trades in comparison, and in this project, pales in comparison to how fast the GPUs can work.
