is collatz down?
I don't get any WUs and my finished WUs haven't been picked up for a few days. Where is the problem?

There are currently problems with ca-bundle.crt in various projects and pools. For me, Collatz, ODLK and GRCPOOL are or were affected

A contribution to the Sidock project helped me. I opened the page https://srbase.my-firewall.org/sr5/download/ca-bundle.crt, copied the content into a new file, renamed the existing ca-bundle.crt as a precaution and the new one at the same Place filed. BOINC has to be closed completely, it is best to restart the computer. Then everything went back to normal

The last full day of Collatz Conjecture downloads I received on Boinc Stats and Free DC stats was on 09-30-2021.

On 10-01-2021, I received a total of 36,776 stats downloads on both sites.

Since then, I have received 0 stats downloads on both sites.

Since I continue to receive downloads for my other Boinc projects on both sites, I can only assume the problem is with Collatz Conjecture. I tried to follow the procedure to fix this issue, but only succeeded in erasing a significant data file on my Windows 10 PC. Since then, I have request assistance with fixing this issue, but have only seen information that some users that followed the procedure had manage to fix the issue. I have yet to receive any significant help. Hopefully, someone will fix the issue on Collatz Conjecture or provide help that I can understand and follow to fix this issue. Until this happens, I have shut down my Collatz Conjecture processing, but I am not yet ready to cancel the work units I have completed.

The problem is actually with a BOINC file, but only with BOINC projects that use a certain entry in the ca-bundle file or the ca-bundle.crt file, It does not affect BOINC projects that do not use this entry.

What you see indicates that, among the BOINC projects you have added on your computer, Collatz Conjecture is the only one that uses this entry now. However, all of the entries is the file have expiration dates. If you use the same version if BOINC long enough, EVERY entry will expire. I believe that's about 10 years after that version of BOINC was created.

I believe that the programmers who create BOINC are discussing whether it is worthwhile to create a new version of BOINC with this file updated, and few if any other changes. However, they have not announced a decision on this yet.

If they create a new version of BOINC, then upgrading to that version of BOINC should be one of the simplest fixes that work,

I've seen nothing on whether the BOINC Stats and Free DC stats sites need similar fixes.

We're giving you our computer time, my computer which cost me 3k will degrade MUCH faster because I give free time to science which I believe is worth it but... it would be great if you guys kept up informed about what's happening and how you plane to resolve this.

Otherwise I'll WIPE my BOINC and continue with other project and scratch for ever Collatz.

If it was a BOINC only problem, it wouldn't only affect Collatz obviously, so something happened with Collatz first which then affected BOINC.

The CA(computer associates) security certificate expired for over 10 million pc's and yours is just one of them, you can either upgrade it or wait for a new version of Boinc to come out that MAY have the new Certificate in it, since the Developers are now NOT paid for thier work they are 'discussing' what should or should not be in the new version meaning it could be awhile. Both Linux and Windows were affected, I don't know about Mac's.

Made things simple for me, since only Collatz is giving me problems, I'm abandoning Collatz for a long time and give my other projects the free time now.
