You know when you're so certain you did something it comes as a quite a big surprise when you later realise you did nothing of the sort? Well...

David :)

You know here: https://boinc.thesonntags.com/collatz/forum_thread.php?id=36&postid=725? Where you said this:

Anniet, your students are not out for the summer, yet?

I thought I said: "Our universities are, but not the primary and secondary schools yet. They'll be freed at the end of next week* I think :)" ... except it seems I didn't, or if I did, I neglected to actually do anything useful with it, like click "post reply".

Let's hope this time I do.

*Wave to Steve and Mikey and Kathryn and everyone* :)

edit: * which is now this week... I think...

Similar things happen to me all the time. I have these conversations in my head but apparently I don't REALLY have them. My wife claims it is the effect of my advancing age. Boooooooooo! In any event, I hope you are enjoying the summer!

Sorry David it happens because our minds don't process tasks as fast as we used to do when we were younger and things get lost in the transfer. Humans are NOT multi-taskers we can just switch between tasks very fast, but as get older things don't work as fast as they used to, probably too much stuff in there to think thru.

I HOPE it's because there is "too much stuff in there to think thru"! Some of the alternative explanations are quite troubling! And despite that sobering thought, everyone have a good day!

Just a quick pop in to say hi. I'm down to 229.8 pounds. I'm under 10 pounds to my mini-goal of 220. That way I can say I'm half the person I used to be.

We're planning for preschool graduation. God only knows what that entails. When we did it Korea, it was a lot of memorizing poems, songs and speeches. Hopefully it'll be a little more low key here.

WOO HOO!!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!! So what are you going to reward yourself with for your mini goal?

I too hope it's more low key but those Asian kids were awesome to watch, I lived in Japan, I was not that young though, and they did the same thing.

No one really seems to know what's going on and it's supposed to be on the 8th. I see stress in my future. If I were lucky, then they'd do all their practicing in the morning when I'm not there. I don't know if I'm lucky or not.

And that's probably the key, no one knows yet, the Asians would have been all over this prepping for weeks or months already!! Since no one knows anything it will probably be last minute with few expectations.

Kathryn, congratulations on the progress and good luck with the graduation!

Less than a month until I am back in the classroom. I have prepared approximately 35% of my lecture handouts (for the semester). Got to grind through a consulting gig in DC early next week. Then, the DoD has invited me to submit a proposal to develop new strategies for staging and treating metastatic melanoma patients. Draft is due August 15, with the final version due September 26. It's a great opportunity and I am look forward to the challenge of moving my ideas from my brain to the printed page.

Here we go ....

Oh my - so much brilliant news! :) Congratulations Kathryn, and David!

I forgot I'd not been in here. I've remembered now obviously, which I am going to look upon, as good news too. Yes. And no one can stop me. No.

I don't understand where or how I did that? I have over 1.6Trillion total credits, just like you do and have fewer credits than you do here.

I have a very strong suspicion this is the winning post. So I'm claiming it as mine.
