We have set up an account at BOINC statsBAM. I am certain he is not going to be a spammer. The first video card he is going to use for the project is an NVIDIA 980. Once he sees how fast credit accumulates, he will probably get more cards to use on the project. I am not sure how to contact the site admin.
Regards,
M

I ran into an unexpected problem the other night while trying to get a friend added to the project. We got the message 'Not Taking New Accounts' or something like that. We could not get him added. Is this indeed the situation with the project? Does this indicate the end of the project soon?

The machine with the A8 CPU has a GTX 680 NVIDIA card in it. So I have one card sitting idle that could be doing a lot of work. The i7 machine has stopped receiving NVIDIA work units as well.

I am still out of NVIDIA work units on the Benaiah machine. If I can't get some for Ironclad, can I at least get some for Benaiah?
Thank you.

Would it be possible to get more work units for my Ironclad and Benaiah machines? I have plenty for the Felix machine.
Regards,
Mark W. Patton.

Projects are still not being reported. I get the immediate project backoff message.

Would it be possible to keep all badges earned, rather than just getting the highest one? I think it would be nice to show an accumulation. M

Maybe you have an overly cautious night watchman who is turning off the wrong breakers. :)

I thought maybe it was out from the storms. Didn't know how you were hit there. Thanks for getting it back up so soon.

Thank you for fixing that. I hope my messages were not too much of an annoyance. I have an i7 machine with an ATI 7770 card in it and I can't get any work from Collatz for it. If I could get Collatz wu's on this machine, I would migrate Milkyway to a different machine. Is there something I am doing wrong. I just upgraded the ATI software on this machine and still can't get wu's. Please advise.

My computers are doing the same amount of work but it seems I am getting half the credit, or less.

I have noticed that my work units are running the same and uploading fine and I have plenty of work. The points don't seem to be posting though. I don't know what this might have to do with your recent troubles but just thought I would let you know.

It wasn't any inconvenience for me. I figured the storms had something to do with it.

I hope to use the 7970's for Milkyway. I checked their list and they say they will work. I've got a 4850 that is running Collatz pretty well in one of my machines but hope to upgrade it soon to something faster. Oh, I got the HAF X box on its way. :)

I got my board at NewEgg for $139.00 and no shipping. I want to get a couple ATI 7970's to put in it but it remains to be seen if that will happen. With this board, I can then add an nVidia GTX 680 or 690 later. These High Air Flow boxes are pretty good. I built my i7 machine in an INWIN Ironclad. But like you, most of my cases are open except for the Ironclad. The only problem with the Ironclad is that they did not allow enough room for expansion cards. I bought 4 ATI 5770's to put in it and only three would fit. I prefer the full towers myself, better heat dissipation. I have had good luck with Biostar boards and they have a decent one that will support the eight core processors at a reasonable price. The Biostar TA970XE is available at newegg for $79.00 and you could still crossfire it later if you decided to do that.

I'm still getting plenty of Collatz work units so I'm glad of that. I ordered an ASUS M5A99X EVO R2. mobo to stick my AMD FX 8350 4.0 gig processor in. I think I'm going to put these in a HAF X box and try to get higher end Vid cards for it. Money is tight right now so I am hoping it does not take me a year to get this thing built.

That is what I intend to do. As much as I hate leaving projects that I have devoted so much time and resources to, I am just going to run the ones that work. It is a shame. I have to wonder if they were not getting enough data processed. You know, I currently process 25 threads of data 24/7. I am thinking I will throw all my resources at one project-whichever one works. :)

I am concerned about this change. Milkyway changed their apps a while back and rendered two of my machines useless on their project. It is beginning to look like volunteered computers are irrelevant. I hope the same thing does not happen here.

Yeah, I started with 1 machine. Now I have 9 at home and three in two other states and one on the bench. They do multiply.

Is there going to be an increase in points allotted for the larger work units?
