Bump, can someone confirm the config? also what are you guys using?
Are configs like this just used for collatz or could I use something similar for other projects to increase output?

Ok so what should I be running instead?

This?

verbose=1
sieve_size=22
kernels_per_reduction=12
threads=12
lut_size=16
sleep=1

Ok got the units working, if I put in my old config file it causes it to fail again.

So is there any optimizations I can do for these units? the file I was using for large units got my times down from 16 hours per unit to 4 hours, so wondering if I can do similar with these or are they already very optimized?

This is what I was using before :

verbose=1
items_per_kernel=22
kernels_per_reduction=12
threads=12
lut_size=16
sleep=1

Ok I have updated to the latest version of the runtime, rebooted and removed my collatz_sieve_1.21_windows_x86_64__opencl_amd_gpu.config and collatz_sieve_1.21_windows_intelx86__opencl_amd_gpu.config files but still no go, any thoughts?

Any idea why the new units keep failing?

Using a R9 Fury card, latest drivers.

Ok just done some tweaks and it looks like one large unit will now take 4 and a half hours!, before adding in the config file it listed as 17 hours, wtf

Hmm unit times are now 7,5 hours, is it normal for times to fluctuate between units?

I would be interested to hear from any other fury owners, 4.5 hours seems amazing for a large unit?

What are the 980ti's / Titans getting these days?

Anyone aware of this? Windows defender keeps flagging Collatz as Malware?

Anyone running one? upgraded from a GTX 970 and whilst its faster it does not seem almost twice as fast which it should be considering the compute power.

Realised I forgot to update the config file when swapping to AMD so I have added this :

verbose=0
items_per_kernel=22
kernels_per_reduction=9
threads=12
sleep=1

Currently got 3 units going on the one card and its reporting about 24 hours per unit, sound about right?

Nah its well cooled, just checked it with other projects seti ect and getting the same results, under furmak which is going to stress it more than any other app I get no slowdown.

It does not fluctuate either which throttling would do, it just drops it to that speed.

Ok so this is a odd one, hoping someone can help.

I have noticed that when I fire up Collatz the clock speeds for the memory on my graphics card drop from 1785MHz to 1502 MHz, any thoughts on why this might be happening? the CPU speed stays as it should though?

Also another thing I have noticed is that running more than one unit on my 970 makes little difference, rnning two units each one takes twice as long as running one, is this normal? I see a lot of people running more than one unit per card?

So I have installed a R7 260x and it seems to be running slow, atm it looks like it will take about 60 hours to do a single large work unit, my 970 can do 3 units in about 20 hours.

Given the performance stats I would have expected it to do better:

260x = 1971.2 glops

970 = 3494 gflops

Anyone with a similar card able to let me know what they get? Do other factors affect the times?

I have edited the config file with the recommended optimisations, seemed to make no difference at all, which was the same result I got when I did the same thing on my 970 tbh.

Ok so tracked down the culprit, I also have WCG running on the CPU, with this running I get the posted results, suspend WCG and all runs as it should.

The odd thing is WCG is not maxing out the CPU, I purposefully set that down to 2 units from 4 to free up CPU time for the GPU, I even set it to just one unit which only took 40% cpu time and still the same results.

Any idea how I can get them to work nicly together? I still want to run WCG on the spare CPU cycles.

Also it took half a hour to do 1& on a large unit which seems slow given the GPU's power.

Just installed a old R7 260X 1gb card and I am getting some odd results :

Its only running one unit at the moment, not looked at running more on it yet due to it only having 1gb memory.

Any thoughts? I know one unit wont max it out but I would expect a more steady load on the GPU?
