The ability to run multiple workunits was added to the drivers in 191.03 :-

Added support to make all GPUs within an SLI group available for CUDA
applications to use.

So since then you can run in SLI. Now thats the theory, the practise depends. Some people it seems run it fine. Others do not. As to why? Who knows.

Anyone experiencing Cuda issues overnight?

Was running fine last night got up this morning and I'm in BSOD heaven.

3 reboots and BSOD before I managed to stop BOINC and suspend Collatz.

MW Cuda units are running fine hence my question if its my machine or others are seeing it.

The tempory fix for me is in cc_config.xml.

<ignore_ati_gpu>0</ignore_ati_gpu>

Allows me to run three units and not bottleneck.

I hear there are driver opportunities at the moment so am hoping 9.12 cat fixes this. 9.12 is due the 16th I believe so I hope it's ATI christmas present for me :)

Paul is the 7 min processing time? At the moment it looks like mine are GPU time: 562.047 seconds, wall clock time: 574.455 seconds i.e. 9 1/2 min.

Struggling to get 2x 5970s running.

With Crossfire on Device 0 and Device 1 run fine till Device 2 or Device 3 gets a unit then the whole machine seems to stop.

Turn Crossfire off and I can run any 3 at full speed and the 4th stops the world again. I can understand the UI not updating but even when it does there is next to no WU progression. i.e. WUs running at about 1% of the speed.

This machine used to run 2x 4850x2 so I know the machine is capable of all out processing of 8 units (using the opti app).

Originally (a week ago) I saw the throttling problem but now its not so much throttling as stopping. This is straight away after being turned off for 24 hours so there is no temperature build up. This is using the stock app not the opti but I see the same results on MW if I have that running instead.

Poorboy never needed to shift my Antec 900 bays for the 4850x2 or the 4870x2. You managed to get me peering in mine to check lol.

It's always been the heat on the x2 I have had to worry about, GPU 0 on each always seems to run real hot.

I have 2x 5970 on order and went with a 'reshell' of a 4U x58 into an Corsair Obsidian 800D. Geez its big. It's half the height of my 24U rack and the X58 board looks like a postage stamp in the middle so I'm hoping there is enough headroom as there is maybe 3-4 inch gap between the 4850x2 and the bays.

I hear you PoorBoy. Summer doesn't help. Maybe when winter comes and I can turn down the AC things may become a little more manageable.

Then the debate is save money or turn more back on :)

Hi I notice the odd WU that is not granting credit even though it is showing as complete and valid. The Workunit Id is 1281. If you need more info to locate it let me know and I'll send on what you need.

Thanks

Excellent work all and thanks again Gipsel its nice to see the community sharing and working together to get more ATI enabled apps.

Crunch3r nice work on the CAL aware BOINC, that I am looking forward to :)

I am one of the strange folks running one Win7 machine with an nVidia GTX-260 and an ATI 4850 in it. If you need any help testing this sort of setup then I'd be more than happy to help out.

I'm running the collatz_1.10_windows_x86_64__cal optimized app on 2x ATI 4850X2 cards. For me on an I7 920 at stock on Windows Server 2008 it takes 2 hours on the CPU and 2.5 hours using the optimized app on the ATI's.

The messages tab in BOINC shows it's using the optimized app from the app_info. What am I doing wrong :)
