This WU took 6 h 8 min.

Win 8.1 64bit
AMD Radeon R9 200 series

GPU load 80-85%
CPU load 100%

No config.

Sadly it wasn't validated. After shutting down my PC overnight it resumed from a checkpoint - perhaps the reason why it didn't validate?

Same here. But the WUs are credited nonetheless, so no real problem I'd say.

Looks like the solo validator is offline again ...
4) Message boards : Number crunching : Solo_collatz wus waiting for validation (Message 17648)

I'll try transitioning the WUs and see if that helps.

Well whatever this 'transitioning' means, it worked. All three WUs have been validated now. Thank You.

I have three solo_collatz WUs (65267329,65267301,65267292) which haven't been validated for a couple of days now.
Any new WU I'm reporting gets validated almost immediately but these 3 keep pending. Anything I could do about them?
6) Message boards : Number crunching : Today's High Steps statistics is showing nonsense (Message 15712)
Posted 1854 days ago by Senilix
Yep. There's a bug I have to fix. While the validator didn't grant any credit for the WU, it still logged it in the high steps table when it should not have.

Looks like the issue is still there ...
7) Message boards : Number crunching : Today's High Steps statistics is showing nonsense (Message 15453)

Many of the highest steps statistics for the last couple of days are showing wrong digits.

For example, on 2012-11-07, the statistic shows
3737017495 steps for number 2377233608540463518416.

That's nonsense, Collatz(2377233608540463518416) needs just 428 steps to terminate.

All the 10-digit highest step numbers are wrong, me think...

Wow, that was a really quick fix. Thanks a lot!

Looking at my (Cuda 4.2) results I found one (this) has been marked invalid. I compared its stderr output against my wingmen's (ATI) results and found them to be identical - with one small difference: the number for which the highest step was reported.

My result with Collatz Conjecture v3.15 i686 for CUDA 4.2
Highest Steps 1754 for 2377141471679459594155
Total Steps 413982595297710

One of my wingmen's result with Collatz Conjecture (3x+1) ATI GPU application version 2.09 by Gipsel (Win64, CAL 1.4)
needed 1754 steps for 2377141471679448208105
413982595297710 total executed steps for 824633720832 numbers

If (and I don't know that of course) the sequence in which the number range is investigated by the CUDA app ist different from the sequence the CAL app is using then that would explain the whole thing. If I'm right, the validator should take into account the possibility that then same highest step value for a number range might be reported for more than one number.
10) Message boards : Number crunching : host crashing every single wu (Message 6169)

I just noticed that this host returns invalid results for every single wu :http://boinc.thesonntags.com/collatz/show_host_detail.php?hostid=14754

Seems like the host's owner isn't aware of the strange behaviour of his nvidia GPU as he is still downloading new tasks.

Thank you very much for the prompt explanation.

I noticed that since some time today all of my work units are getting 800.01 credits - instead of a variable amount depending on the number of calculated steps.

Was the credit system of Collatz changed to a fixed one?

Hmmm, seems like there have only been 7 work units in a row which earned these 800.01 credits. The next WUs are awarded with the usual variable rate of something between 700 and 750 credits. A bit weird though ...

I hope it will we a while before DA detects this:

Looks like u will be urged to cut your credits by a factor of at least 5 in the near future...

5K credits per wu with collatz 2.00 ?!?!? With an ellapse time of 30 min?!?!?

I hope this will last for the next couple of hours ;)

Please check this host
http://boinc.thesonntags.com/collatz/show_host_detail.php?hostid=2043

90% of it's WUs is showing "validation inconclusive".
