I crunch not much on Collatz because I don't like its credits are higher than GPUGRID and PrimeGrid ones.
You do know that the Collatz Conjecture IS a real math problem?
Yeah, I know, but it's not my favourite one. :P

The point was to show that people crunch for more reasons than credits.

Yeah, nothing to say against it. We love science and that's the main reason for choosing projects. ;)

About credits I even do the opposite.

According to BoincStats Collatz has:
Users 65,183
Active users 2,335 (3.58%)
Hosts 6,676
Active hosts 4,557 (68.26%)

While Cosmology has:
Users 82,258
Active users 5,822 (7.08%)
Hosts 15,774
Active hosts 10,710 (67.90%)

Eistein has:
Users 6,147
Active users 3,624 (58.96%)
Hosts 15,089
Active hosts 12,833 (85.05%)

Seti has:
Users 1,808,588
Active users 89,017 (4.92%)
Hosts 163,878
Active hosts 140,679 (85.84%)

Seti gives out just about the fewest credits of any Project

Universe has:
Users 1,080
Active users 776 (71.85%)
Hosts 3,911
Active hosts 3,049 (77.96%)

Universe pays a ton of credits for their cpu workunits.

What this says is that at least some of the people here probably like the credits but people like other Projects as well even though they give out fewer credits.

Universe@home has got "only" 39k active users, but total users are maybe over 1 hundred thousand.
They are not on BOINCstats because they did not consent data export for stats.
You can even find users from userid=0 to userid=53842, then there are not users up to userid=120000.
By now userid=213442 exists.

Same on Einstein@home.
