Yesm that was my problem too. BOINC downloaded a lot of units, said that each would last 45 mins (which was the estimated time before the WU size was changed). But every time it began one of these units it turned out to last 3 hours. So I quickly ran into the deadline. I had to abort almost every of this units.

Then the 41 hours WU's showed up, so I decided to gove the mini a chance.

Some days ago, BOINC downloaded 3 WU's, telling me that each one would last 41 hours. That was the reason why I tried to change to mini. And it didn't work, so I asked for help, and claggy helped me in a perfect way.

I've redid Transalp's app_info, then redid a couple of my hosts, like my E8500/GTX460/HD5770 host (i've set it up with collatz and mini_collatz for short term GPU/app comparison purposes only):

hostid=20542

The GTX460 and the HD5770 are very close in performance (in spite of what the Average processing rate says at the moment)

Claggy

Yeah, he did it. Thx a lot for that!!

Only funny thing is, that BOINC stays at exact 30 WU's. Finishing one, then loading one and telling me: This computer has reached a limit on tasks in progress. With an average of 22 minutes with my GTS250, this leaves me with only 11 hours of work. This wasn't so until the WU size was changed.

Any additional idea with that?

'-' and blanks removed, but still

Message from server:_("Your app_info.xml file doesn't have a usable version of")mini_collatz.

Damned...

Thanks for your help, Claggy.

Extra characters? Which one do you mean.

I've opened the file with Notepad, nothing else. I've edited as you've written, but without success. Still downloading large files. Even one which is predicted to run 36 hours.

No one with an idea?

BOINC keeps telling me:

Message from server:_("Your app_info.xml file doesn't have a usable version of")mini_collatz.

Hi at all,

do I have to make changes in my app_info.xml in order to get small WU's? I only have a GTS250 and BOINC keeps downloading only bigger WU's.

Thanks

By the way, I have once posted, that Collatz keeps telling me that I run 2.04. This has never changed: http://boinc.thesonntags.com/collatz/forum_thread.php?id=576&nowrap=true#9389

or it is also counting the WUs you have downloaded that are in progress.

This is correct.

Thanks for the info..

Funny, at the moment this page shows 175,500 pending credit, each with 750 credits which is 234 pending WU's

:-)

Ok, let's see where this ends.

Thanks for the fast reply. But shouldn't the pending credit grow in that case? It remains stable at 16 returned WU's.

With the former smaller WU's I've had around 48k a day. The larger WU's run 4 times longer and count 4 times in credits. Math says that this should be aboslutely the same as with the smaller WU's. But my average credit has dropped by 10k since the last 4 days. And is still dropping...

Does anyone have an idea?

Thanks in advance

Hi there,

is it normal that after installation of 2.05 BOINC still reports "collatz 2.04 (cuda)" although the Task Manager reads "collatz_2.05_windows_intelx86_cuda31.exe"?

Thanks for your help
and greetings from Germany
