Thank you very much Slicker. I just didn't want to run out of work because I had not done something right.

(I'll let you know about the storm. It will be HERE (Iowa) before it gets to you!)

I have a (most likely) dumb question. I am running a couple of ATI HD-3200 with current drivers. They are crunching Collatz and seem happy. The problem is, I keep getting an error message in Boinc Manager that I need 8.12 catalyst and I HAVE Catalyst 9.11. Do I need to do something different?

One box is WIN7-64 and the other is XP-32 but both give me the same message.

Identical boxes except OS.

AuthenticAMD
AMD Phenom(tm) 9950 Quad-Core Processor [x86 Family 16 Model 2 Stepping 3]
(4 processors)

PS: Mods, feel free to move this if it is the wrong thread!

Ideas welcome!

Dave

I agree 100% Gas Giant

JMHO but it should be fairly easy for a project manager to compare RAC's to the posters. I do not post much, I am not nearly tech-savvy enough to offer any meaningful input, BUT, I can kludge together a cruncher and enjoy the competition. I crunch for several projects, Collatz being the latest.

From strictly a (to use Rom's term) volunteer's standpoint, if I made a suggestion, I would at least like to be told WHY it is not feasable.

I am here because this project rewards my efforts well, and is an asset to my competitive nature. Am I a "big gun" -- NO! (My vegetable garden is not exactly inconsequential either) My crunchers will run SOMEWHERE so I want to get the best 'return on my investment' I can, eg. credits. I am sure there are others who do not feel that way, and that is fine. I am only explaining why I crunch, and how I decide WHERE to crunch. I just detached 2 NVIDIA cards from GPUgrid and attached them here because I think I can ultimately do better on this project.

My 1 cent's worth........(bad economy, cant afford 2)

Dave

A PS to the above. I am VERY impressed at Slicker's attention to the boards and rapid responses. Something I do not see on other projects. I read the boards on ALL the projects but do not post much. A big KUDO to you Slicker!

No trouble with verification here, but the credit slump is astounding!

Rosetta used to be my bottom-end project as far as credits.

From this morning:

Collatz -- 23K seconds = 25.08 credits
Rosetta -- 6.7K " = 26.11 credits
S@H -- 6.5K " = 27.23 credits
