Hi
Thanks for your quick reply, I have a second installation already on the machine, so I've just config files to play with.

I have set-up a Linux Debian machine using "buster". I have two NVIDIA GPUs.
0 = RTX 2070 SUPER
1 = GTX 750 Ti
The config files and event log all list both, no problems, however only the card "0" is working. The cc_config.xml file is correct.
This problem seems to be an OS problem rather than specific project problem, none fine the card "1".

Any and all comments welcome.
Many thanks in advance, Malcolm
P.S. Happy Christmas

Hi Mikey
Yeah, I'm going to let my mate in Malta play with NVIDIA drivers tomorrow. Just for future reference the complete list of options for the cc_config.xml file is here: https://boinc.berkeley.edu/wiki/Client_configuration

I've found a list of the options for cc_config and added a line <use_certs>1</use_certs> just below the "use all gpus" line and the file got read on rebooting, wonderful, now it says the 440.44 driver that is installed for the NVIDIA 2070 Super is not suitable for the GTX 750 Ti. Hate everything. But this is a problem for my mate in Malta along with getting the graphical interface back, meanwhile the machine is crunching merrily away so all is well.

Many thanks for your help, you've been very patient with me and my machine. Good weekend to you, Malcolm

I have the machine running, needs a 80cm fan where the side panel normally is to allow it to function, but what the hell?
I've installed a command-line BOINC manager which is fine.
Only finds the big GPU, so could you suggest an extra line that I can add to cc_config.xml please? I can write the file with no problems, your suggested manner in the BOINC graphical manager didn't work for me.
I'm wondering if we should move this conversation to the Linux area now.

La suite! Thinking that the reason for the failure of the BOINC manager to write a new cc_config.xml file was that I needed to restart BOINC. So I sent the machine down for a reboot and when it came back up it was without the graphics interface, i.e.I have only "Command Line" access to the machine, Then things went really pear shaped because the machine started overheating and started shutting down. I can install a command line manager for BOINC but even with the side panel off the case the machine is still getting too warm. With my original cc_config.xml file the "event log" showed that it was being found and also the big new shiny NVIDIA 2070 Super GPU, but not the GTX 750 Ti.

Something is wrong,

The screens connected to the smaller card are getting sync signals but no video. One reason for the 2070 GPU was to run my new 32" 4K UHD screen which it does fine. Previously I had the 3 screens connected to just the smaller card but the big screen wouldn't run at full resolution, so I knocked it back to standard HD 1920x1080 and everything was fine till the HDD went down, all this was running Linux, so I bought a new hard drive (heavy duty) and decided to add the extra GPU to feed the big screen, when it came back from the rebuild (in a nice new bigger case with more ventilation) the shop had installed a temporary version of W10, the screens all worked but not GPU in BOINC, which was I started all this correspondence about the cc_config.xml file.

So!

I've turned it off for the weekend and will think about things, I can boot the machine, login as root and kill BOINC and then see if there is anything I can do. It's supper time. Very many thanks for all your help I really am extremely grateful. Malcolm.

It's me, again! Having got nowhere with windows10 I threw it away and I've installed Linux Debian "buster" (taken two days even with the help of my mate in Malta on the telephone for six or seven hours). Then I installed BOINC and chose some projects to run and up comes your message. So I've followed your instructions and am sending the machine down for a reboot now.

To be continued.............

Thanks for your reply.

The copy of the file (in my original post) is copy & paste from notepad, I've retyped it several times, when I try to save it in the correct place it says I don't have "administrator" rights to do so, although the file gets listed in the directory! I re-read the config file & Boinc manager says it isn't there. I avoided the ".txt" trap from long experience.

(P.S. I hate computers, just for now. :( )

Here I go again! copied my cc_config.xml file from one machine onto a new W10 machine, and Boinc Manager says it can't find it, doesn't exist! Contents:

<cc_config>
<options>
<use_all_gpus>1</use_all_gpus>
</options>
</cc_config>

What am I doing wrong? I'm at my wits end, machines and Boinc heading for the dump soon!

Thanks,I'll let you know how I get on, I had success in writing the file into the right place, (typical windo$e machine had told me I didn't have "the authority!"), re-read the config files OK, just have to wait for the machine to need more GPU jobs now. I'll go into the fine tuning once the jobs start coming in, although in all honesty I don't need more heat in my apartment.
Windoze has always been a mystery for me drives me mad.

Which Boinc directory? I can't write into the one under Programmes, and putting it in the directory where all the project files are does nothing. I have two identical NVIDIA GTX1070 Ti GPUs, they both work for Moo Wrapper and Primegrid.
