1) Message boards : Number crunching : What are the least demanding CPU and GPU projects? (Message 22452)
Posted 607 days ago by Profile a2aaron
There are two apps you may choose from, the Micro Units, which run only for low end computers, and the Sieve Units, which take 10 hours on my computer (I can't d Micro Units).

The CPU tasks don't usually cause too much over heating and my GPU also does about 1 hour per task (but I disabled GPU crunching due to overheating issues).

Possibly a "highest number tested" or "all numbers below ___ have been tested". It'd been nice to see how high we've gotten and how close we are to the next milestone.

7) Message boards : Science : Are workunits on individual numbers or ranges of numbers? (Message 21130)

Even on large (30+ digit) numbers, my computer can easily solve an individual number in less than a second, leading me to belive that the WUs are over large ranges of numbers. Is this true? If so, how large are these ranges?
