A while back, I looked at a review of a quad crossfire system with 5870s. The fourth GPU slowed the system down.

Just thought I'd mention it.

As an update, I took the 4870 out of the system. It was heating up to well over 100 degrees Celcius anyways.

I'm suprised that these 2 4890s run with crossfire enabled.

I changed the % back to 100% load and 100% time.

Now it's using 2 of the processors. One is still unused.

I have the main gpu active, and the other are sitting inactive right now.

In Catalyst it has the first adapter, second says enabled, and third says disabled.

Go figure. It worked with two.

4890 First Slot x 16
4980 Second Slot x 8
4870 Third Slot x 8

Crossfire is turned off.

Displays are extended.

Sorry about starting a new threat, buy I couldn't post in the other one.

Thank you for your help. I got both working perfectly.

I guess there's no way to allow the second card to crunch while I do things with the first card?

Thanks. I've seen that one with the folding@home project.

Oh well, I'll just use one gpu.

Although I looked at the list here and it said: running device 0 and running device 1 on the apps list.

So it might just be using both!

Two ATI 4890 cards.

1. How can I use both gpus for computing?

2. How can I choose just the second 4890 card for computing?

I don't have a monitor attached to the second card.
