Thermal Heat is always an issue specially on Laptops. Make sure you in a regular fashion blow out the heat pipes of the GPU and you should be okay. I have an older laptop running on CPU only some old projects and it has been working fine for 5+ years. I do a regular monthly a quickly dust blow out. I would say a better desktop rig handles heat better and well doing GPU work is much faster typically.

One last idea and this is a long shot but it could be Voltage on the card. The PSU could be right at the edge of voltage use needs. I have 750 psu on all my units and use 80 Gold standard to prevent issues but have had times when a rail on a PSU is acting up and a replacement brings all back. It is hard to track these types of issues down for sure and the compiled code used is working but a pause could be that the voltage drop at the GPU is freaking the system out at the pause point is all I can think of at this point.

While this is just an idea maybe others have seen this and can add to the thread.

I can say this being a developer it is not easy to track down issues like this, and even harder when funding is zero. I think maybe another project would serve your needs best. I do know the ADMIN Jon works hard to make sure things work but yes the 100% is the mark and you typically get 99% but it looks as if you are in the 1% fall out.

Good luck looking for something that works 100% of the time.

Sounds like a write error to the hard drive. Check the HD and update on those drivers maybe.

Try the above for data locations.

Uninstall C Runtimes and Update them 32 bit and 64 bit.
Uninstall the Client also as this sometimes gets hosed.

Hope that helps.

4 year old and still running is good. The issue is the AMD driver and only supporting older tech. I would look for newer drivers and if that doesn't work then when slow or you need it do a SHUT down on the project and exit the software and once all is good relaunch.

I would try then UNINSTALL of the BOINC software and install the latest version as others have had issues also with the newer Intel GEN of processors.

OpenCL is not loading properly with your current driver. I would look for newer one or maybe go back a version. OpenCL is a pain with Intel and the DLL Reg pointers fail often.

Same here just install latest Nvidia drivers and all good

Install Both 32 bit and 64 bit runtimes of C (FRONT PAGE has Links).

If this fails roll back two versions on the NVIDIA drivers. You need to run them only from NVIDIA as these contain the C library pointers for CUDA.

Hope this helps.

Okay that is at Beginning and End points. I would suggest doing a complete uninstall of your video drivers. I would the seek out an older driver say 2 months old and start with those. Good luck!

Is the cores overclocked at all? Does the GPU abort at the start or end...where is the question.

Which driver and card are you using?

How much ram is installed and what OS version.

Typically we need this to help. I would first uninstall your drivers and head to NVIDIA for the latest version. I would also make sure your C runtimes are current.

Hope that helps!

Same here and well computers mostly doing nothing is getting old on the SSL issues. Maybe Jon you could explain why the CERT keeps failing.

Uninstall all drivers and go to NVidia and get one generation back of their drivers.
You may need to use this UTIL - https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html

Okay I do have one thing to try if possible. Try changing the screen resolution before starting the application. If this works then what you could have is a bad memory chip as the buffering for the screen could be hung maybe....also I assume your cleared the runtime c classes out and reboot and reloaded? Okay well like you say crunch away!

Have seen this and it was related to power. I would maybe look at your PSU and see if the voltage it proper for your CPU and GPU.

Is your card over clocked or the CPU in any way?

If so clock at stock and see what happens.

Now if not over clocked try uninstall first the C and also the Project also the BOINC software.

Reverse install and see if that helps.

Not sure but it sounds like it could be something missing in the CSUB's installed.
