1) Message boards : Number crunching : Credit (Message 20348)

I think that it is strange that a GPU can get 6707.120101530731 credits per hour for this job, http://boinc.thesonntags.com/collatz/workunit.php?wuid=13778756But the Raspberry gets 10.75486936930966 credits per hour for this job http://boinc.thesonntags.com/collatz/workunit.php?wuid=13688037

I know the Raspberry takes a long time to procvess the work but in the end they both end up with a result ?

I am running a Raspberry Pi 2 on this machine http://boinc.thesonntags.com/collatz/show_host_detail.php?hostid=188963 with an ARMv7 Processor rev 5 (v7l) processor. The work is validating OK but the credit seems to be a bit light. The credit seems to be between 10 and 12 credits per hour which seems low to me?

Other than that I can say the application seems to working correctly, I have processed 25 tasks, without any errors so far.

Can't get either one to work as it says no jobs for my type of computer. I will give it a miss and just run Collatz on my windows PC's for the Pentathlon.

I am using linux and want to load the optimised app so I can run Collatz. My Linux Nvidia driver is 295.4, the most up to date one I can get for CENTOS and I have a GTX 275. I have 64 bit Linux 2.6.18-308.4.1.el5

Which of the Optimised CUDA apps do I need to load ??

collatz_2.04_x86_64-pc-linux-gnu__cuda31.tar.bz2 (Linux 64-bit CUDA) 2.04 nVidia/CUDA 3.1

collatz_2.02_x86_64-pc-linux-gnu__cuda22.tar.bz2 (Linux 64-bit CUDA) 2.02 nVidia/CUDA 2.2

I have Linux x86_64 CENTOS 5.5 loaded onto a PC which is running my webcam web server. I have BOINC running on the server but it does not see the HD 4770 that is there. Looking in system-config-display i see that Linux sees the 4770 but it is running on the vesa - Generic driver.

I down loaded the latest driver for linux (ati-driver-installer-10-5-x86.x86_64.run) but when I run it it looks for X.Org and does not find it.

My GUI is Gnome.

Is there a way to load the driver without screwing up my system.

I added the cc_config

<cc_config>
<options>
<no_gpus>0</no_gpus>
<use_all_gpus>1</use_all_gpus>
</options>
</cc_config>

10) Message boards : Number crunching : Long Work Unit (Message 7243)
Posted 2839 days ago by Profile Dingo
GPU, I recently added Milkyway and DNETC@HOME to a PC that was running Collatz. I seem to have a work unit that has been running for over 4 hours and the time to go is over 2 hours. The wu is stopped at the moment while one of the other projects are running on the GPU.

The work unit is

16/04/2010 12:41:10 PM Collatz Conjecture Starting task collatz_1270919119_348088_1 using collatz version 203

Edit: Added this result link

http://boinc.thesonntags.com/collatz/result.php?resultid=28455724

I have suspended the other projects and it is now processing like normal and should be finished in a few minutes and not the 2 hours as estimated.

Does the clock keep running when Collatz is waiting for the other projects to run ?

This one looks to be another example I think ?

13) Message boards : Number crunching : GPU Missing (Message 6180)

It shows all the info, but I cannot update the driver as it is on a laptop and the HD46 series drivers are not available from ATI. They just give links to laptop makers, but my Australian one is not there. I am not sure if I load one from a different maker if it will screw it up?/

As far as I know the drivers are the same. Rebooting and stopping and starting BOINC did not solve the problem. I guess I will have to give up on 15K credits a day :(
15) Message boards : Number crunching : GPU Missing (Message 6154)
Posted 2901 days ago by Profile Dingo
I have a laptop that has a HD4650 Radeon that has been crunching work for about a month. When I looked at the tasks today there is a message to say GPU cannot be found. Also when I look at the Computer the HD4650 is no longer listed under the GPU heading. Is the HD4650 no longer supported ?? It does a WU in about 40 minutes and there has not been any problems that I could see.

HELP

The status in Boinc Manager is "GPU Missing, Ready to start"
