1) Message boards : Number crunching : Not getting tasks for GPU (Message 23557)
Posted 401 days ago by CodeRedDewd
I have a question... I get work when the server has connection and work is available, but what I don't get is enough. I get enough for 10 hours and it seems that daily something happens to the server and I run out of work. I have yet to get through one day and not run out. I set the preferences for 10 and 10 days. Who knows what that does, but I only get 10 hours for the GPU and something like 20 days for the CPU. Is there a way to balance this better?
2) Message boards : Number crunching : Android.... Is this supported? (Message 23551)
Posted 402 days ago by CodeRedDewd
I thought I'd see what Android can do. I was able to add the project, but can't get any tasks. It's saying my settings are not correct and to change them on the website. On the preferences it says the settings do not apply to Android. I'm not sure what to do. Any suggestions?

I decided to give Android a try at this but I'm not able to dkwnload any tasks. It says in the wvent log that my current settings don't allow tasks from this project and to change them on the website. On the website it says the settings don't apply to android. Hmmm What do I do?
4) Message boards : Number crunching : GPU compute capability list (Message 8754)

The 295 crunches each task in 31 minutes
The 280 crunches each task in 33 minutes

Anyone with similar results??

sounds a little slow - my GTS250 (800/1100) needs about 33 minutes using the 2.04 app...

You got me beat with the clock speeds. I'm only at 756... maybe that's it?

The compute capability is shown in the 18th line or so in the messages... I was looking in the wrong place. The placeholder + 1.00 NVIDIA GPUs (device0)) is the percentage and will always be 1.00 I suppose, or less.

I have a gtx295 co-op and a gtx280 now and both are 1.3 capable, so everyone is right. For some info... The gtx295 clocks are slower than the gtx280 out of the box, but the 295 OCs higher.

280--GPU 734, Shader 1566, Memory 1107
295--GPU 756, Shader 1620. Memory 1053

I've only bumped up the memory 53Mhz on the 295 and none on the 280. I'll be tweaking that some in the future.

The 295 crunches each task in 31 minutes
The 280 crunches each task in 33 minutes

Anyone with similar results??

Is there a list of GPUs and the cimpute capability? I've been looking for one and can't find anything to know what to expect. I had a 9800gx2 with a 1.1 capability. I now have a 280GTX and it only shows as a 1.0. I was thinking about getting a GTX 295 for the heck of it, but it's still a 200 series, right? What do those compute at? Thanks for the help!
7) Message boards : Number crunching : 52 Tasks waiting for validation and growing! (Message 7204)

Is it normal to have 52 tasks and growing every day? 2 days ago, it was in the 20s, and I'm only using 1 gpu...
8) Message boards : Windows : Multi-thread CPU Task only runs 100% total for 4 cores and not 4 cores at !00% each? (Message 6874)
Posted 2849 days ago by CodeRedDewd
How are the CPU tasks suppose to rum? If I have a 4 core processor, and the task is multi-threaded, shouldn't it run close to 100% on each core and not a total of 100% across 4 cores?
